“ It's been 13 years since I was in Ethiopia, where I ate only Ethiopian food for ten days straight and by the end was pretty injera'd out. But I've since recovered and I'm ready again so when someone suggested Gursha, I was all down. The restaurant was pretty empty when we met up for lunch on a Saturday. I liked their traditional set up, feels authentic. I was not a fan of the burning incense but yes, it is part of the vibe. My friend got the veggie platter and I got the tibs. The server/owner was so friendly and sweet. She was happy to see us and made us feel welcome, as if we were visitors in her home. She suggested a delicious special of beef and lamb but my friend is vegetarian and it would be for two people. So tibs it was and I was happy with it. It was flavorful and made with love. ”
“ Just tried Gursha for the first time while visiting Vegas. We were craving Ethiopian and wanted something off Strip. The ambiance was calming upon entry, and we just relaxed and took our time eating. The food was delicious, and came with plenty of injera! We ordered sambusas, the veggie platter for 2, and the kitfo (add the berbere!). The owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly. She was our server and was cooking too, and we could feel the love she put into everything. We finished off our meal with the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, served to us by the owner with incense burning, a perfect way to end our meal at Gursha. Highly recommend! ”
“ What a delicious restaurant! The service was friendly and attentive, the food delectable, and the atmosphere vibrant and fun. The chef came out to check on us and was so lovely to talk with. I also enjoyed the African music videos playing in the background, it definitely added to the cheery atmosphere. ”
“ First time at this Ethiopian restaurant. Decided to try this on Monday night. The ambiance is dimly lit restaurant , with not the most spacious seating. They weren't busy at all so we were served attended to right away. The server was very friendly and gave us suggestions on what to order. We ordered the awaze tibs, and lamb meat dish. Both were very flavorful and tender. I thought the awaze tibs were better overall. It was nice trying out this hidden gem. Although they were out of a few side dishes that I wanted such as rice ; I'd still come back and give them another try. ”
“ This place is amazing!!! Is my first time tring ethiopian food but I really like it, will definitely go back next time!! ”
“ The restaurant was so great I had to write a Yelp Review. If you're coming the Bay Area you know of the many options of Ethiopian restaurants, this one exceeds those in my opinion. Gursha's owner will welcome you in and make you feel extremely comfortable with her hospitality. The inside of the place has a cozy charm with incense burning which really sets off the ambiance. We ordered the usual veggie platter, kitfo, doro wat (special), and the Gursha shekla tibs. All seasoned well and the injera was perfect. As we finished off our platter, we ordered side portions of our favorites like the lentils and the shiro. Food price was completely reasonable for the amount of food and people we came with and had plenty leftover for the next day. We cannot wait to go back again as this is now our favorite spot. ”
“ Came in here to get my Ethiopian fix and it did not let down. Sambusas - berbere in oil sauce was on point Veggie platter - I don't know what's what, but I always love me a combo veggie platter Goden tibs (short ribs) - flavor wise was good, but they were a little overcooked Awaze tibs - tried this to get something different. Very saucy Kitfo - this meat with the cheese and additional spice on top is one of my favorites (have to request the spice on the side) -the menu seems small compared to other Ethopian restaurants that I have been to, but they have everything I crave ”
“ Gursha is a gem of an Ethiopian restaurant that deserves all the love and support from locals. The owner wears multiple hats as chef, waitress, and hostess, and her passion for cooking shines through in the food. It's the kind of place you root for, knowing your support goes directly to someone who pours their heart into their business. Our group of five dug into two large veggie platters, relishing every bite of the flavorful Injera. The bill ended up a tad higher than anticipated, but it's a small price to pay to support such a hardworking small business owner. Gursha isn't just about the food; it's about community and backing someone who pours their soul into their craft. We'll gladly return, knowing our patronage goes a long way in keeping this local treasure alive and thriving. ”
